Belated Happy Labor Day! Hope you had some fun activities during the last long weekend before the upcoming cool weather!
In July, we had 3 new moms and 1 dad joining the parents’ group (Cheers for the dad’s participation!).
At the first session, parents introduced themselves as usual - some highs and lows, chit-chatting with each other. However, the atmosphere changed suddenly after we went into the second session after dinner and started a bible discussion with a passage - Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. James 1:22.
During the discussion, parents are curious to ask questions about God’s words such as
“How do you listen to God's words?”
“How do you know if those words are from God?”
Instead of me to answer, other moms started to share their life stories and how God’s words gave them guidance to jump out from the darkness. ministers also jumped in to answer and share their thoughts when the questions went more challenging and deeper. At the time, the Holy Spirit was full around the room and we, the ministers, volunteers and parents, worked as a team to share the gospels to the non-believers and teach them how to pray. The perfect synchronization was backed up by God’s love and mighty power. I was humbled by his power and realized that I do not need to be super smart and perfect but JUST DO WHAT HE SAYS. HE WILL DO THE REST.
In August, we had an outdoor BBQ!! Praise the Lord everything was fine and smooth! The weather was perfect! Kids had so much fun. They played games while we did the BBQ (I admitted that I am not a good barbecuer but luckily some parents and volunteers are experts to help!) Again I was melted by the kids' smiles and innocence. I also realized God loves all of us no matter who we are and what happened to us.
